Hi There,
I'm Jackson

The picture of me in the chair was taken in April 2024 when another student and I travelled to Long Beach, CA to present out research at NCUR, an undergraduate research conference.

Bio

I studied at UW-Stout in their Applied Math and Computer Science program. While I was at Stout, I discovered my passion for mathematics, and, in my sophomore year, I began working as a math tutor. The work was fantastic and I loved helping students reach their full potential and gain confidence in themselves. Seeing them make progress, not just academically, but in their overall mindset towards learning is incredibly rewarding.

Now, that I have graduated from Stout, I seek to continue making a difference for students struggling with math. While I know that I can't make a student as passionate about math as I am, I can make them less anxious and less nervous about their next exam.

Teaching/Tutoring
Experience

Substitute Teaching in the Madison Area

As a substitute teacher, I have the opportunity to learn how to connect with students and keep them on task. While substituting, I am building skills to build rapport with students and help them succeed academically.

Teaching Assistant at UW-Stout

As a teaching assistant, I had the opportunity to support students both inside and outside the classroom. This experience allowed me to develop the skills to build rapport, give personalized help to individual students, and foster a positive learning environment.

Math Tutor at UW-Stout

As a tutor, I had the opportunity to work closely with students, help them overcome challenges, and achieve their academic goals. This experience deepened my passion for tutoring as I witnessed firsthand how personalized support can make a significant difference in a student’s confidence and success.
